Small Scale Production of Yogurt

SMALL SCALE PRODUCTION OF YOGURT Yogurt is a sour milk product. Its sour taste is attributed to the presence of lactic acid yielded by bacteria through fermentation. Bacteria that are commonly used in yoghurt production are Streptococcus thermophilus and Lactobacillus bulgaricus. These bacteria have the ability to break down sugars in the milk producing lactate or lactic acid as by-product. Below is a step-by-step procedure in the production of yogurt. Find out from the procedure why yogurt has low fat content.Note: Practice aseptic technique. Wash hands before proceeding and wear lab gown, head cap, latex gloves and if necessary, facial mask to prevent unwanted contamination of the pre-yogurt mixture. Ingredients (good for one group) 1. 500 mL homogenized pasteurized milk (to be bought and brought as 1L pack good for two groups) to be provided: 2. 15 grams skim milk powder (SMP) 3. 50 grams refined sugar 4. 40 ml starter culture bacteria from natural yoghurt prepared as follows : % skim milk powder in distilled water, yoghurt or yakult, incubated at 43o to 46o for 3 to 4 hours till clotted Procedure 1. In a clean container, carefully transfer the milk and carefully dissolve the SMP and sugar. Cover with aluminum foil and heat the mixture at 90oC (water bath) for 10 minutes. 2. Cool down to 50oC in a bath of ice water. 3. Meanwhile shake the culture of the starter bacteria to free it from lumps and carefully add (inoculate) to the milk. Make sure that the temperature of the container is cool enough to touch.Mix to evenly distribute the starter culture. 5. Transfer the inoculated milk into the plastic container provided. Seal the lid with masking tape and label the container properly (group number, section and instructor). 6. Incubate the milk at 43oC to 46oC in an incubator overnight. At this point this will be taken cared of by the lab technicians and will be chilled at 4C thereafter. Reference: Davide, Clara L. 1996. Microbial Production of Yoghurt and Cheese . No Place to call Home

No place to call Home You're on your way home from work or school and you stop at a red light. As you patiently wait for the light to glisten green you notice someone walking in between the rows of cars. It's not the usual person who's always selling water and random fruits; instead it's a person in raggedy clothes holding a sign that reads â€Å"Please help. I'm homeless† written on a cardboard flap. Now the question is what are you going to do? Will you reach into your wallet and give this poor soul a donation or will you retend to look for something in your car and act as though you cant see them? The sad truth is more than half of us would perform the second option without even realizing it. Homelessness has been around for a long time. No one seems to be doing anything about it and it's not because there isn't any way to fix it because there is we Just don't care enough to act on it. We could create more stabilized homeless shelters; improve the homeless organizations we h ave initiated, and expand and/or open up more Job opportunities for people in these types of situations. There's a big controversy with the way people perceive the homeless. A lot of people believe that they are homeless due to their own wrong-doings. Whether it is drugs, alcohol, gambling etc. which can be very true at times but that is not always the case. There are times when a person goes through a rough patch in life. They couldVe gotten fired from their Job, lost their house, or Just recently got a divorce. These things can also lead to homelessness. I suggest we put further effort into the present day homeless shelters. We could create hybrid homeless shelter that is not only a place for them to eat and sleep but doubles as a rehab center for those who have any type of addiction. Society has created organizations for a variety of different social issues. Some have more of an impact than others, regarding those created for the homeless; they have not made a grand impression and definitely need some improving. We need to make it broad and spread the word that everyone should donate. These organizations prevent the money from going directly to the homeless people and nsure that the money will go towards prevention and will not benefit their addictions in any way. The Job condition right now in the U. S is struggling and the employment rate is down. Without Jobs there is no cash flow and people tend to lose their houses, cars, etc. That is what results in so many people living on the streets. If we work to create more Jobs, or expand the Job opportunities we have now-a-days we can help homeless people off the streets due to the fact they will be earning a steady income and can get back on their feet.By adjusting the system of homeless shelters, enhancing the corporations that help collect funds for the homeless, and also developing and/or establishing Job openings we could decrease the percentage of people experiencing how it feels to be homeless. It may take a great deal of time and effort but when the person you once say standing on the street begging for money now has a place to eat, a bed to lie on, a place that they can call home, it is a huge sense of accomplishment. Pepsi’s Strategy in Entering India

PepsiCo had been trying to enter the Indian market for quite some time with no success. In 1988 Pepsi received a letter from George Fernandes, the General Secretary of one of the country's leading political parties, Janata Dal. He wrote, â€Å"I learned that you are coming here. I am the one that threw Coca-Cola out, and we are soon going to come back into the government. If you come into the country, you have to remember that the same fate awaits you as Coca-Cola. † This scared PepsiCo a bit knowing that their rival was forced to leave the country in 1977 after the Janata Dal came to power.PepsiCo had to think of a way to get in without facing the same consequences Coca-Cola had to face. In May 1985, PepsiCo joined with one of India's leading business houses, the R P Goenka (RPG) group, to begin operations in the India. The company, along with the RPG group company Agro Product Export Ltd. , planned to import the cola concentrate and sell soft drinks under the Pepsi label. Pe psiCo's decision linked its entry with the development and welfare of the state was aimed at winning the government over. The fact that Punjab boasted a healthy agricultural sector played a role in PepsiCo's decision.Coke and PepsiPepsiCo claimed that it would play a central role in bringing about an agricultural revolution in the state and would create many employment opportunities. It promised to create 50,000 jobs in the nation. Pepsi began by setting up a fruit and vegetable processing plants at Zahura village in Punjab's Hoshiarpur district. The plant then was focused on processing tomatoes to make tomato paste. Pepsi had a tough time convincing farmers to work for the company. Its experts from the US had to interact extensively with the farmers to explain how they could benefit from working with the company.

Leisure in Society. Golf Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

Leisure in Society. Golf - Essay Example According to ESRC fact sheet the most popular leisure time activity in the UK is watching TV. However, the main problem, which arises, is the lack of movement and physical activity in the lives of the British population. According to the research conducted in Bristol over 10Â  % of 11-year-old children should move more actively and are recommended to make daily exercises. The other survey conducted by the Avon Longitudinal Study of Parents and Children came to the conclusion that children from more well-to-do families make less exercise than children from poorer social background and girls were less active than boys / BBC News, 2005/. Medical surveys, which took place in 2002, showed the same results that over 22Â  % of male and 23Â  % of British female population were obese. Besides, some part of the population was not obese but overweight. These are 43Â  % of males and 34Â  % of female population of the UK. Thus, according to the Body Mass Index over 50Â  % of all adult population of Great Britain is overweight and were recommended to control their weight / Office for National Statistics, 2005/. On the other hand, it should be mentioned that there is a growing interest to the sport activities in the UK. Thus, the General Household Survey made a research of the most popular sporting activities of grown-ups (aged 16 and more). The results of the survey are represented on the table below/ Office for National Statistics, 2005/ : The only corrections, which I would like to make in this list is to include angling. Thus, according to the Environment Agency approximately 11Â  % of all British population has fished during the past two years / Environment Agency, 2007/. Therefore, I would like to mention this kind of sport activity as one of the popular activities of the UK population both of men and women. On the other hand, the other hand, which we also should take into consideration, is the organization of the sport activity. Thus, according to

Talent Management Assignment Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Talent Management - Assignment Example Organizations need to manage these employees effectively so as to ensure their retention for a longer period of time. (Scullion and Collings, 2011). This challenges the conventional approach to growth in favor of a more harmonized approach (Identifying Natural Talents Lets Company Make Right Choice, 1999). In this essay, important aspects associated with the manager’s role in effective talent management are highlighted how much it is important to identify and appoint appropriate talent for the company to achieve its goals (Schweyer, 2010). A core feature of top personnel is their innate wish to progress, and their dedication towards self-growth and empowerment (Keeping your talent, 2008, pp. 6-8). These employees establish and enhance because they wish to, however not articulating a point in which they can enhance will not offer the impetus needed for this self-growth (Effron and Ort, 2013). Discovering effective leaders and managers to occupy challenging responsibilities is always a preference since it facilitates companies to overcome unpredicted outcomes and to capitalize on introvert opportunities (Berger, 2004). As per a talent management survey, more than 50 percent of organizations use a formal or informal talent management initiative, highlighting that human capital issues are among the prime objectives of strategic planning (Stadler, 2011, pp.

Research paper on any controversy of an book author

On any controversy of an book author - Research Paper Example His works was dismissed by feminists, who believed that Hemingway’s tone was quite condescending and associated extremely foul traits with women. His hatred for women is understandable as throughout his life, he never had a stable relationship with the opposite sex that in turn led him to create some extremely controversial stories about women and the dynamics of marriage. When Hemingway was conscripted in the American army during the World War I, he fell in love with a nurse when he was admitted into a hospital after sustaining some heavy injuries on the battlefield. The said nurse’s name was Agnes and Hemingway was clearly infatuated with her. The two shared a short-lived romance and even made plans of marriage but Hemingway was left heartbroken when Agnes deemed her Italian fiance a better match for her than Hemingway. However, this was just the tip of the ice berg. Hemmingway’s misogynistic attitude roots back to his childhood and the conflict between him and his mother caused him to hold several grudges against women and these thoughts were often projected on to the male protagonists of his stories. Hemingway has said to have shown great hatred towards his mother on several occasions, who was an opera singer by profession. It is a documented fact that Hemingway referred to his mother as ‘That bitch’, he was weary of her mother’s domineering nature and despised her immensely for it. He believed that her mother not only emasculated his father, but also tried to emasculate him by not adhering to the gender roles and further inciting incestuous conflicts between his sister, Marceline and him (Jung, 2010). His childhood can be described as being quite turbulent for it was filled with her parents bickering and his mother eventually overpowering his father. He believed that his father’s masculinity was suppressed by his mother’s over-demanding nature and from then on Hemingway not only frowned upon marriage b ut began to believe that women were the biggest source of conflicts in a man’s life. He held them responsible for triggering identity problems in men and it can be rightly assumed that Hemingway too began questioning his identity because of his mother and sister. His tumultuous relationship with his mother was ostensible after some the letters that he exchanged with his mother became public and he openly passed derogatory remarks about her. Of course, every controversy has a story behind it and so travelling back into Hemingway’s childhood, one can easily see how the controversy was spurred into action. Back in the 19th century it was common for families to dress their males in feminine clothing. Therefore, so like every other young boy living in the late 19th century Hemingway was dressed in feminine clothes since birth. It was the set norm, but later on his mother, Grace, took it a step further and began dressing Hemingway and his sister, up in similar dresses, shoes , and even gave them the same hairstyles. She became intensely obsessive over making the two siblings look like twins. She went through great measures into keeping her fantasy alive. For example she made them sleep on the same bed; they were given the same toys, and such. Grace coupled the two up so much just so she could be happy in her fantasy world; she played with her children like dolls and often treated them heartlessly. The woman eventually cultivated

Procurement Outsourcing Strategies Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 words

Procurement Outsourcing Strategies - Essay Example Additionally, the Wonderful Widgets Company gets to act as a management hub that executes the finalized strategies for the product. This reading focuses on the series of strategic initiatives that explain the perceived impact of forming strategic alliances in procurement and outsourcing. The impending questions regarding the issues with outsourcing this particular case scenario is what risks are involved, and whether the outsourcing strategies should depend on the product characteristics, for example, the clock speed. As the Supply manager, the tasks involved entail the identification and development of an effective procurement strategy that aids in lowering or reducing the monthly operational costs (Rosenfield, 2012). The final decision pertaining to procurement is also dependent on the business operations involved with the company. Streamlining the business processes is essential in enacting and implementing an appropriate procurement service that works in favor of the business goals in terms of minimizing the operational costs. The selection of a strategic source for the manufacturing components would aid the company in taking advantage of any classified duty rates or even if the company is eligible to participate in special trade programs. The dynamics of the transit costs ought to be calculated to determine the inventory carrying costs, the freight, duty and brokerage or insurance costs (Rosenfield, 2012). Subscribing to premium freight services that require paying higher percentages can prove to be expensive to the company’s operational costs. This is common for shipment of premium goods which uses carrier insurance. Consolidating the goods and components expected by the company from multiple suppliers helps in minimizing transport costs for the business. The variable transit times for goods from different suppliers results in higher payments for the company. Since the company

RISK MANAGEMENT Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

RISK MANAGEMENT - Essay Example Strong leadership defines the risk culture and shares that vision with management. Leadership acts as if it believes in its vision. In the feedback cycle, leadership listens to new risks identified and responds with a course of action consistent with the culture of risk. (Marks and Rassmussen, 2010) (Hopkin, 2010) Management commits to the leadership vision and manages to that standard. Teamwork is essential throughout the workforce and it is management that provides the regulation of the team. Management trains employees to respond properly to risks, for example, wearing safety equipment or using machinery correctly. Management monitors the results of risk management tactics and accounts for poor risk taking behaviors. Management establishes quantitative analysis tools to measure risk culture compliance. Any problem areas are reported to leadership, discussed and a mutually agreed upon intervention occurs. (Marks and Rassmussen)(Hopkin, 2010) Strong financial risk cultures identify key risks inherent in the business; these may include currency exchange, interest rates, diversification issues, fluctuating suppliers’ prices and raw commodity pricing. The key financial risks order by primacy from largest concern to least impactful. The financial risk manager reviews the company risk tolerance and manages the priorities accordingly, implementing strategies and tactics to reduce risk where desired. These tactics usually involve the derivative markets, like interest rate swaps and commodity trading. Risk management is a repetitive process, so the financial risk manager monitors the markets of concern and refines his strategy as needed. (Horcher, 2005) (Das, 2006) Operational risk management concerns both management and measurement of risk. Traditionally, operations risk management involved all the company processes and systems, all employees for management and training, and any external event, such as political interference. A strong culture identifies, measu res and implements a strategy consistent with overall company goals. Of course, on-going stewardship is required as with the financial risk management. (Abkowitz, 2008) Weak Risk Culture Weak risk cultures begin with resistant leadership, sometimes arrogant leadership. Management is either not told goals or communications are not transparent. Leadership and management must believe in and be committed to the same vision of risk culture. New risks are not identified on a timely basis, on-going stewardship is an essential part of a strong risk culture. Underutilizing personal or improper training creates a weak risk culture operationally. Only considering risk avoidance and mitigation rather than proactively seeking profitable means to deal with risk is a characteristic of a weak risk culture financially. For instance, trading in derivatives can be profitable by trading risky interest rate situations for more time sensitive hedges. Weak risk cultures do not do what strong ones do. (And erson and Schroder, 2010) Risk-Return/Risk-Reward The financial risk manager observes the risk-reward behavior of financial instruments in order to determine the least risk available for the highest return. If all instruments shared the same risk, the investor would choose the highest reward. If all risks had the same reward, investors would choose the lowest risk. This balance is achieved through diversification of investments and managing the volatility of an investment

Father Brown vs Brother Cadfael Essay Example for Free

Father Brown vs Brother Cadfael Essay Father Brown and Brother Cadfael were both men of the church who were put into situations where they needed to solve some sort of crime. Unmistakably the two had similarities in how they solve the crime. Who would have been better to solve a crime than a man of God? They had their differences in how they did their job as well. Most of all, they had the biggest difference, which is the dissimilarity in what they believed. They didn’t solve the same crime, but how they did it was similar in certain ways. Brother Cadfael and Father Brown were both crime-solving men, who had some similarities. They were both behind the scenes doing work, as they tried to find clues in there own way. Ultimately Brown was more observant with his listening, while Cadfael was more observant with his sight and his touch. They were very similar in some ways and both wanted to get the job done. The notably natural detectives both share the want to solve the crime. Although they have many similarities, they also have many differences. Cadfael and Brown undoubtedly had the want to solve the crime, but how they solve it is the difference. Naturally, the two â€Å"detectives† have a lot of differences ranging from a variety of things. Cadfael had to touch the body and had to get into the nitty gritty work, while Brown listened and observed from a distance. Brown could find out who did it and what happened fairly quickly while it took Cadfael much longer to understand what happened and who did it. Cadfael had a rough life in the army and joined ministry because he wanted a quiet life. He did not join in because he wanted to serve the Lord. Brown loves the lord and people and that was a big difference between the two. Brown was very observant and knows different characteristics, such as on page 84 in the story â€Å"the salad of Cornel Cray† Brown says â€Å"real madmen always encourages their own morbidity. They never strive against it. But you are trying to find traces of the burglar; even when there aren’t any. You are struggling against it. You want what no man wants. † This insists that Brown knew far more about people’s habits than Cadfael did. The two of them had a lot of differences and they were as close to opposite as you could get. They had differences of solving the case but also in how they view what was going on. There way of the solving the case was different and so was their world view. Brown wanted to solve the crime and to make the world a better place, while Cadfael just wanted to get it over with so that he can go back to his peaceful life. Specifically, Cadfael was a man from the army before his life in the church. All Cadfael wanted was a life of peace, especially from his service to his country. Cadfael had felt no remorse from the men he had killed. Cadfael wasn’t doing some of the work for God he was doing the work for himself. Brown was doing what he did for God and so that the world would be a better place, and not for his own good. The cautious but completely clever Father Brown had a sense of heart, when a war hero was the bad guy he didn’t do anything because he didn’t want to bring disgrace to a national hero. Cadfael would possibly want the glory to be brought to him, and Brown would want everything be solved, they are very different on their view of how things work. Father Brown and Brother Cadfael were crime solving, God following men. Under one God they serviced. They were alike in some ways. Also they were different in many ways. When it came to their worldview, the two of them were very far apart. When it came to crime solving they had a few similarities. They also had lots of differences and each had their own advantage in that case. When it comes down to the point they get the job done. Altogether they both had their strengths and weaknesses. The aggressive detectives always did get the job done.

Organized Crime: The Social Perspective

Organized Crime: The Social Perspective Regardless of which form of organized crime takes place, abundantly clear organized crime is showing no signs of slowing down or even being remotely under control. The continued growth and diversification of organized crimes continues to be a major problem for law enforcement and for law abiding citizens as a whole. Organized crime existed even before there was any real understanding of it as something distinctive. After all, organized societies breed organized crime. To an extent, this reflects the greater opportunities in such environments; to an extent, it is acknowledged as more effective state law enforcement develops. Thus, classical Rome suffered from organized and crossborder smuggling, protection racketeering, and piracy, while the pirates of the Spanish Main were part of a relatively complex transnational criminal economy. In western Europe, organized crime began to emerge at the time of the Renaissance, especially in Italy and Netherlands, themselves the cradle of the new, organized society. In China, secret societies had been operating as criminal enterprises throughout the history of the empire. However, the twentieth century saw a phenomenal growth in the scope, power, and effectiveness of organized crime as the state became increasingly powerful and intrusive. In particular, the more states try to control particular commodities and services they consider dangerous and immoral or apply taxes or regulations that drive up costs, the more they create markets for organized crime. Thus, Prohibition in the United States in the 1920s and early 1930s, the more limited Soviet anti-alcohol campaign under Mikhail Gorbachev in the 1980s, and the illegalization of narcotics throughout the world all contributed dramatically to the markets and thus profits for organized crime. Social institution is a group or organization that has a particular purpose, goal, or task, and accomplishes the successful completion of this goal, purpose, or task by influencing and persuading individuals in a community to participate, and assist with achieving this objective. Social institution applies to organized crime in numerous ways. According to Warren (1973), criminal organizations develop in geographical locations that display a portion of individuals residing within the jurisdiction desire a product criminal organization is offering. This is crucial as it allows the organization to successfully produce, distribute, and consume the product (University of Phoenix, 2010). In addition, criminal organizations focus on a communitys social structure, control the community has socially on its members, and the level of participation each community member has among the rest. Moreover, criminal organizations form tight-knit relations with legitimate businesses and owners willing to participate in the organizations success (University of Phoenix, 2010). The alien theory states individuals involved with organized crime in Sicily and Italy had produced criminal organizations known as the Sicilian Mafia or Costra Nostra. These individuals migrated to the United States in an attempt to escape detection and apprehension by law enforcement in their own country, and to take advantage of the numerous opportunities that existed within the United States both legally and illegally. once in the United States these groups of individuals developed, organized, and operated numerous criminal organizations, carried out minor and serious criminal offenses; and were believed by many professionals and Americans to have been the primary cause for the establishing a criminal culture (osmosis, 2003). The social control theory asserts that an individual who is involved with a community and has strong family relations will be less likely to engage in illegal activity than those who do not. If an individual is capable of establishing a positive rapport with community members, becomes involved and participates in community programs, such as youth, elderly, religious-spiritual, and anti-crime, the individual will most likely refrain from engaging in criminal activity or at the very least consider the consequences of a criminal act prior to committing the act (Psychological Glossary, 2010). The differential association theory considers ones social group and environment as the fundamental explanation for ones criminal behavior and the formation and joining of criminal organizations. An individual who socializes with a group or other individuals who have a history with the legal system or who engage in illegal activity are at an extremely high-risk to conform to the norms of that particular social sub-group. A prime example is a teenager who becomes involved in delinquent criminal behavior and activity as a result of peer pressure. These juveniles are susceptible to withdrawing from school, joining criminal organizations, such as street gangs, and experimenting with illegal substances and alcohol, all of which continues the juvenile down a path of addiction, career criminality, and a long criminal history into adulthood (Sutherland, 1978). The strain and anomie theory believes that individuals who engage in criminal activity do so as a result of wanting a piece of the American dream or to obtain materialistic items of value. A majority of individuals within the United States never experience the luxury of owning a fancy vehicle, house, business, or property. Most individuals residing in the United States are forced to work labor intensive jobs, receive a low paying wage, are parents who must provide and support families, such as children, and do so through legal means. Unfortunately, the desire to achieve items of value, provide a better life for ones children, such as the purchasing of school cloths, vacations, and after-school activities can force one to conduct illegal business for the purpose of gaining an additional income (Agnew, 2007). The empirical and speculative theories discussed throughout this paper, such as the alien, social control, differential association, and strain and anomie theories can assist researchers, society, professionals, and law enforcement with understanding the elements that exist in different criminal organizations and criminal behavior. Each theory is supported by research, statistics, strong arguments, and facts that can be used by law enforcement in numerous ways. Theories as such display characteristics and mannerisms common in criminal behavior, along with what geographical locations are susceptible to the development of criminal organizations and activity. Furthermore, jurisdictions, in which its citizens are antisocial prove to be breeding grounds for many types of criminal wrongdoing that exists.

Computational Design and Management in Pharmaceuticals

Computational Design and Management in Pharmaceuticals Computational design and management in pharmaceuticals Liu Sui Abstract: Throughout the years since the computer was first developed, the computer has become required and indispensable in modern society. Significant scientific usage of computers has spread throughout all the sciences, including pharmaceutical science. In pharmaceuticals, usage has become an essential tool for the whole drug development process, from initiation of lead searching to finding the best fit, to finding toxicity. This paper will give an overview on how computers are used in the field of computational drug design. The development of computers is a short but exciting history. Looking back at this short history, it perfectly illustrates the intelligence and grittiness of mankind. Since the invention of electronic intelligence, this industry has been growing at an amazing pace. From the technical point of view, computers have changed a huge amount since ENIAC in 1946 to the modern day Intel and ARM architectures permeating our life (Bellis). Computers have changed their role from supercomputer being used for big companies and organizations to the personal computer that exists in just about every household, in one way or another. IT companies have also changed from marketing huge computers to marketing tiny computers to be used in the household, that synchronize with the fast speeds of the modern internet. In 1946, ENIAC was co-operated by the U.S. government and the University of Pennsylvania department of computer science (Goldstine). Features of this first generation of computers were that oper ating instructions were prepared for a specific task, and each machine had its own different mechanical languages. This generation of computers had very limited functionality and slow processing speed. Nonetheless, in less than 60 years, computers have become tools that are used by many different fields of study to enhance their overall value. The rapid development of computer technology has led to a massive expansion of computer-related applications in the pharmaceutical industry. From the local computer system-based assistance, to the inevitable development of network-based assistance, usage of computer networks has become an inevitable trend. Both the computer industry and the pharmaceutical industry influence each other, and the combination of penetration, has and will continue to impact the operating mode of pharmacy. Management and technical decisions made à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹Ãƒ ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â‚¬ ¹today within the pharmaceutical industry can be combined with the development of computer technology. All pharmacy workers should be aware of this and any future developments. In recent decades, due to the application of computers in pharmaceutical technology, many important achievements have been achieved. Since antiquity, humans have built many tools to physically extend their physical capabilities such as the wheel, the pulley, and the vehicle. On comparison, creating devices to extending mental capability, such as the abacus, calculator, and computer, has also been a great human achievement. Computers are unlike any other tools in which they can replace human labor under pre-programed condition for an indefinite duration. An item only becomes useful for society depending on its function, where computers have many unique features to make them ideal for society: †¢ Computers have incredible calculation ability. †¢ Computers have a huge memory, in order to go through large data sets The CPU and GPU of a computer have the ability to perform billions of complicated math operations per second. In terms of the pharmaceutical technology industry, this huge processing speed is vital for the complex mathematical operations required of this emerging discipline, such as calculating pharmacy finances, calculation and maintaining of pharmaceutical inventory, all the way to calculating drug and other protein formulas, determining the computational drug metabolism and its related pharmacokinetics computing, and pharmaceutical pattern recognition. Many computer-based programs have been developed and continue being improved to fill the huge needs of this industry. In the developmental stage of drug design, to search for drugs that possess the lowest energy in chemical structure can take a very long time, and is hard to do. Many people may question why do we need to calculate the lost energy possibility structure, and this question cannot be answered in one simple sentence. In chemistry, each element is giving a symbol. Molecular formulas use these elemental symbols to show substantive (whether it’s an element or a molecular compound) composition of molecules and their relative molecular weight. Chemical formulas are widely used to present chemicals and chemical reaction. In nature, many drugs have different chemical formula, but at the same time, some compounds that have the exact same molecular formula may not be the same compounds; these compounds are called isomers. Isomers have same chemical formula but different atomic arrangement, and the cause of isomers is the change of order between atoms or groups. One type of isomers is called constitutional isomer. For example, ethanol and methoxymethane both have the chemical formula of C2H6O, but ethanol has an alcohol group, and methoxymethane has an ether function group (figure 1) Figure 1: chemical formula of ethanol and methoxymethane. This is where the software, Gaussian, becomes an invaluabl e part of pharmaceutical chemistry. Gaussian and its related software, Gaussview, are used to search for conformation amongst molecules. Stereoisomers have the molecular atom and group connected to each other in the same order but have different spatial arrangements. Many people may ask why we should care about the spatial arrangements. To answer this question, we need to think about molecules in terms of Classical Physics versus Quantum Physics. In chemistry, each chemical bond contains potential energy. The higher energy level the compounds bonds at, the less stable the compounds becomes. To make a more stable compound is a goal for many chemists because stable compounds have less of a chance to be decomposed, and in nature, many natural products being produced are those in their lowest energy states. The Classical Mechanics approach is mainly used for study of macroscopic objects in slow to stationary motion. Through studying the measureable movements through experiments, chemica ls’ optimal nuclear positions can be found, and the lowest energy state can be found through graphing. However, in chemistry, all chemical bonds are in constant vibration and the ability to study the energy state of electron distribution is more useful for finding the lowest possible energy state. The optimal distribution of electron can be done by quantum mechanics. To think of energy as waves in the ocean, the lowest possible position is actually quite hard to find. It is possible to find some bumps, but these might not be the lowest points. To find the lowest energy points, huge amounts of calculation are needed. At this point, computers become essential. By inputting atomic coordinates, model chemistry and basis set into the software, Gaussian, the software will do the rest of the calculations and provide correct output including atomic coordinates, energy, and a wave function. The wave function can be further interpreted into molecular orbitals, partial charges, electros tatic potential surface, chemical shifts, bond orders, and spin densities. In order to find all these information, a high degree of accuracy is required. However, computers only have a certain amount of accuracy: they can only simulate continuous functions and numbers up to a finite point, leading to an accuracy problem. In general, most chemistry calculations have a certain degree of error that is allowed as long as the relative error in within the sufficient acceptable error range. Theoretically, the precision of calculation by computer is unlimited, but in practicality, most only go as far as a certain amount. Beyond building a drug at its lowest energy state, or find a drug’s real conformation with incredible speed and accuracy, the huge data storage and memory capacity allow for huge amounts of library research. There are huge online drug repositories (both public and private) for researchers and scientists to search for their targeted drug. During the drug development phase, the first part of any research is to screen for lead compounds and modify these lead compounds to make them work on human biology. Because there are literally millions of compounds available to start from, how should one most efficiently find the compound desired? The answer is through computational lead compound search. Computers will input parameters given and search for lead compounds that fit the requirements and list them out with more information. Information retrieval of drug related data is an essential tool in the pharmacist’s tool belt. One example of a great computational research tool used for computational design of drugs is the OpenEye OMEGA software suite. OMEGA is the name of a software product belonging to the OpenEye scientific software suite. OMEGA is a powerful tool for screening toxic chemical groups and providing validation of Lipinski’s rule of 5. OMEGA and vRocs have large libraries that can provide much help throughout the usage of computer-aided drug design. The OpenEye product claims that it â€Å"performs rapid conformational expansion of drug-like molecules, yielding a throughput of tens of thousands of compounds per day per processor (open eye website)†. This is a huge search, and without the modern memory, data storage, and speed of modern computers, this task would be impossible. At the beginning of any computational research, researchers have to get into a specific mindset. First, what disease does this researcher want to work on? Based on the disease selected, what drugs are cur rently on the market? Third, are there any other drugs can be any possible new drug candidates? At this point, researchers can start putting their desired pharmacophora into a computer, and let the computer search the library to suggest any possible candidates for further research. Automated drug screening is a good example of this type of raw processing speed and breadth of data to go through. Extensive automatic pharmacological screening for compounds is the traditional and effective method to find new drugs. The sources of compounds are available for screening on a wide range of values including synthetic compounds, natural extracts, microbial fermentation, and compounds obtained by combinatorial chemistry techniques. There are a large number of these compounds possible, so in order to avoid leakage of data across screenings, screening needs to go through a few dozen general pharmacological screening models. To have the best possible outcomes, usually the combination of computer and robates for a netter system can run a screen quickly, efficiently, and on a large scale of samples. Currently, 10ÃŽ ¼g of a typical compound is a sufficient amount to go through dozens of pharmacological screenings, and as tens of thousands of compounds can be screened per day, t his provides valuable research and development of lead compounds. Within the past few years, even the regular computer is able to store a staggering amount of information. In order to perform the screening methods mentioned above, computers need to have large libraries. However, having a large library is not enough for computer to perform computational research; a certain amount of AI logic is also required. This AI logic ability as implemented through judgment causality analysis is the ability to analyze the proposition being established in order to make the appropriate countermeasures. This logic, or pattern recognition, is nowadays easily implemented by computers. OMEGA is one program can be used for pattern recognition. Drugs are used to cure diseases, but for many drugs, they can be toxic to human at the same time as they are helping us control and cure some diseases. Pattern recognition uses the computer using mathematical methods to study automatic processing techniques and interpretation models. We consider the environment and objects within as a model. With the development of computer technology, it is possible to model extremely complex human information processing. An important form of this type of modeling is the identification process on the environment and the living body object. OMEGA can take as input information on the compounds generated by Gaussian and run through GaussView to filter out toxic compounds. This filter can recognize extremely complex pattern. In this filter, many structures are programed in as toxic groups. Any compounds possessing properties of any of these toxic groups will not pass this filter. Other than toxic groups, this program can also recognize number of hydroge n bond donors (HBD) and hydrogen bond acceptors (HBA). HBD and HBA counts are important for drugs because they are important indication for if a drug candidate can be a production drug or not. Dr. Lipinski is the scientist who first comes up with a so-called â€Å"rule of five.† Linpinski’s rule of five was created in 1997 after Christopher A. Lipinski studied 2245 drugs appear on the World Drug Index that have passed phase II clinical trials. By study these drugs’ structural features he came up with four rules: The molecule weight of these compounds less than 500. The number of HBD is less than 5. The number of HBA is less than 10. Log P is less than 5 (Lipinski) (Lipinski et al) Because of Lipinski’s study, the number of HBA and HBD become one critical point when dealing with finding new drug candidates. The variable â€Å"P† is the lipo-hydro partition coefficient, and Log (P) is used to measure the solubility comparison of a compound’s solubility of octane to water. In order to pass through the body, drugs need to be polar in order to dissolve in the bloodstream. However, a drug should not be too polar, because it needs lipophilicity to pass through cell membrane. OMEGA is able to filter all these individual factors, and provide the end user a spreadsheet with all the information contained. After initial candidates search, it is time to test if the drug has a good binding to the target protein. In the human body, drugs need to bind to target protein thereby either inhibit or excite a series of biological reactions. How well a drug can bind to its target directly affect this drug’s efficiency. This structure-activity relationship is related to a drug’s pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. The chemical structure affects a drug’s properties, and these structures will decide which protein this drug will interact with. A drug should not be too tightly bound to the protein because in this case the drug will be very hard to be metabolized and eliminated through the body, and can cause accumulation in the body, and be toxic. To measure how well a drug can bind to its target, the software VIDA is the best choice. VIDA is a program which can visualize docking results of the drug with the protein in a 3D view. Beyond this entire skillset of detailed programs within pharmaceutical chemistry, it is also nice to have a computer that is easy to use, able to perform automatic work, and bind all these programs together. As more and more modern drug analysis use computer instruments for analysis, so many different analytical instruments and computer connection and so many different instrumentation and automation for online use are not only for the determination of electrochemical, spectroscopic, kinetic equilibrium constant, but they are also used for data processing, statistical analysis and results. This all will allow for drug analysis continue to move forward in a sensitive, accurate and rapid direction. Over the years, computer has been developing rapidly, and at the point, people are not only working on making computer faster. Instead, people trying to put this powerful Programs are designed for people, and by people, reflecting the peoples way of thinking and behavior of action, remember to replace part of the program and will be able to simulate human thinking and activities. The Open Boat Essay -- Literary Analysis, Stephen Crane

â€Å"When it came night, the white waves passed to and fro in the moonlight, and the wind brought the sound of the great sea’s voice to the men on the shore, and they felt they could then be interpreters† (Crane 370). â€Å"The Open Boat,† written by Stephen Crane, describes the journey of four men stranded in a dinghy in the middle of the ocean and the hardships that had to be faced in order to survive. This story is not only a riveting story, keeping readers on the edge of their seat, but the story also makes the reader realize how precious life truly is. Sometimes people have a tendency to take life as a grain of salt and do not think about the realization that life can be taken away within the blink of an eye. As in â€Å"The Open Boat,† the crew members learned they could not survive alone, and their only option was to work together as a team. We need to have that same perspective toward our everyday life when we, or someone we see, are struggling. The Captain is a major character in the story, and his character holds the other crew members heads up keeping them motivated during times of distress. He was the captain on the original boat, but after the boat sank, he become injured and could not physically participate in keeping the dinghy afloat. In the beginning, the captain feels that he has lost his sense of direction due to not being used to letting others take charge. Without his sense of authority intact, he feels disconnected from the world, and his spirit becomes dismantled. However, since he was not able to contribute in the way he preferred, he led the way by giving specific instructions to the other characters in order to keep the dinghy afloat. Every member on the boat follows his directions. He commands very respectably. This... ...ibing two different qualities that is being used together in the same statement. In summary, â€Å"The Open Boat† is a highly intriguing story that can not only be read for pure enjoyment, but it also has a moral to the story. No matter where someone comes from in life, whether someone is the richest or the poorest person on Earth, he or she should always make sure to make it a point to look out for someone and have their back when they are struggling. By looking out for each other, just as they did in â€Å"The Open Boat,† they created strong everlasting friendships. If someone is being looked out for by someone else, then that person will make a point to return the favor as well. Life is just like the ocean. We might have our ups and our downs, but life never changes. The only thing that will affect the outcome of our lives is the perspective that we put toward our life.

Habeas Corpus and the Use of Military Tribunals Essay -- American Hist

Habeas Corpus and the Use of Military Tribunals In America Under the Threat of Terrorism Introduction It was on this date one hundred forty two years ago (April 25, 1861), that President Abraham Lincoln sent a letter to Lt. General Winfield Scott authorizing the suspension of â€Å"The Privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus† . Lincoln had been president for less than two months and was facing, what was up to that time and arguably may still be the greatest threat to the survival of the United States since the Founding Fathers launched this â€Å"Great Experiment†. Only eleven days earlier Major Robert Anderson, the commander of the federal garrison at Fort Sumter, South Carolina, had to surrender the fort to the Confederate Army. Lincoln was reluctant to issue such an order but had done so as he faced the very real possibility that the Maryland legislature would convene and â€Å"[t]ake action to arm the people of that state against the people of the United States† . Thus began the first of several occasions in our nation’s history where a president when faced with a â€Å"clear and present danger† to our national security has had to balance fulfilling his oath to â€Å"[p]reserve, protect and defend the Constitution†¦Ã¢â‚¬ with the â€Å"privilege† to have any detainment reviewed by a judge or magistrate of competent jurisdiction. Problem Statement How far may law enforcement officials go in compromising civil liberties to enhance national security? What does the Constitution say with respect to the suspension of the civil liberties in times of national emergency? How has the U.S. Supreme Court interpreted the constitution with respect to the suspension of habeas corpus? Few citizens would disagree that national security is a legitimate function of government. First and foremost, our national government is responsible for the protection of life, then liberty. The most ardent champions of the Bill of Rights concede that it would be foolish to treat civil liberties as inviolable when the lives of innocent thousands are at stake. U.S. Supreme Court Justice Robert H. Jackson, dissenting in a free speech case, gave these words of warning regarding civil liberties: â€Å"[T]he choice is not between order and liberty. It is between liberty with order and anarchy without either. There is danger that, if the Court does not temper its doctrinaire logic with a little practical wisdom, it will c... ...lue – Freedom. Or it can be an indictment of our fear if we abrogate the liberties so much cherished and so dearly paid for. Bibliography Rehnquist, William H. All the Laws But One, New York: Alfred P. Bullying: Kids Will Be Kids Essay

â€Å"Kids will be kids. † Time and time again, this phrase has been used to dismiss the countless cases of bullying that take place in schools across the country. Such a carefree attitude towards a violent and brutal problem like bullying is a disturbing trend to see. Every year thousands of kids fall victim to schoolyard and online bulling. A child who has suffered from bullying is â€Å"2 to 9 times more likely to commit or attempt suicide† (Teen Health) and more often then not, cruelty from peers is a motivator for tragedies such as school shootings. These acts of torture among adolescents need to stop. Whether enforced in the home, at school or by the law, there needs to be consequences for students who participate in bullying their peers. Proposed Solution It is estimated that â€Å"1 out of 4 elementary-school bullies will have a criminal record by the time they are 30† (Teen Health). The behavior of most bullies is fueled by emotional or psychological problems. Some have been victim of violence or abuse in their home environment while others may suffer from low self-esteem and lack of self-worth. Regardless of the reason, these kids use bullying as form of coping with their own issues. It allows the child to synthesize the feelings of power and control; both of which most troubled children lack. Less extreme, but just as problematic, reasons for bullies to act out are the pressure to fit in with a certain peer group, the need to prove their â€Å"toughness† or â€Å"masculinity† and sometimes they will even lash out in response to have been bullied themselves. Since most bullying begins in the school setting, schools should recognize the responsibility they have in preventing and discouraging such behavior. As I mentioned before, bullying is usually a response to some psychological issue faced by the bully. A zero tolerance policy is essential to maintaining a safe learning environment for our youth. Kids who display ridicule towards their peers should be required to have a psychological analysis and attend a number of therapy sessions. If the problem continues, suspension and expulsion should be utilized as appropriate courses of disciplinary action. If caught cyber bullying, the child should lose computer privileges in school even if the bullying was committed outside of school property. Alternative schools should also be considered as an option or children who repeatedly display aggressive behavior towards their peers. Being a school created to manage behavioral problems, alternative schools provide a structured environment where the children are monitored closely and the staff is trained for dealing with deviant behavior. Tolerance should be taught in the home as well as in school. So, the responsibility of managing this problem should also lie in the hands of the parents. Up until the child reaches the age of 18, parents should also be held responsible for any bullying that their child may be participating in. In instances of multiple failed attempts by the school to handle the problem, parents should be required to step in as a mediator and work with the school. A parent who refuses to intervene with the school should be faced with legal ramifications. Perhaps when running the risk of being fined, parents might show more incentive to intervene when it comes to the behavior of their child. Monitoring their child’s Internet activity is a good way to identify and prevents cases of cyber bullying. In extreme cases of violence or physical threats, the law should be allowed to step in and get involved. Beating up a kid on the playground should be treated like a battery case. Instead of slapping the child with a few detentions, they, or their parents, should be forced to face criminal charges in court. In the case of suicides caused by bullying, the bully or their parents should be required to pay hefty fines and perhaps be sentenced to a stay in jail. Social networking sites, such as MySpace and Facebook, have created an increase in instances of cyber-bullying. By using these websites, bullies can create emotional chaos from the comfort of their own home. Cyber-bullying is usually particularly vicious because kids can hide their identity behind a screen name thus avoiding responsibility for their actions. Kids who are caught cyber-bulling should lose their computer privileges at school whether or not the incident took place on school grounds. In the case of physical threats and sexual harassment, the law should become involved in prosecuting the bully. Just because it falls under the category of bullying doesn’t mean it’s not illegal. Physical threats are illegal and shouldn’t be discredited on the basis of â€Å"kids will be kids. Conclusion Due to recent suicides committed by a number of gay teenagers, the issue of bullying has been pulled into the national spotlight. It is time to stop standing by and turning the other cheek. Our schools, parents and the law need to work together to create a violence free environment where all of our children can go to get an education. By strengthening existing disciplinary actions and adding new ones to the arsenal, we can curb the rate of bullying and avoid the devastating effects it has on our community and our youth.

Emailing and flick conferencing enables communication for employees.Allowing employees to keep up with daily updates or requesting assistance from the IT helpdesk. milestone 2 Detailed Technology Solution The best technology solution for incorporating telework in your business is with infect computing. This will allow caseworkers to receive work instructions, tasks, and communicate with management and other co-workers away from the office. Management training Systems Twelfth edition (Laudon and Laudon p. 70) explains, Cloud computing refers to a model of computing that provides vex to a shared pool of computing resources (computers, storage, applications, and services), over a earnings, often the Internet. Cloud computing offers anytime self-service, employees can complete work from any where at any time. Employees will also be able to find the network from personal laptops, tablets, or mobile devices. An infinite amount of employees can access the network simultaneously. Resources required can be changed any time due to the ask from the business.Businesses are only charged for the services that are used. Cloud computing offers 3 opposite services streak al-Qaida as a service, cloud curriculum as a service, and cloud software as a service. Cloud fundament as a service (IaaS) enables business to move their applications into the cloud and run information systems. Cloud platform as a service (PaaS) allows businesses to discover applications with services provided from the cloud supplier. Cloud software as a service (SaaS) gives the business access to use cloud software for business development. In order for ACS to allow caseworkers to telework, cloud foundation as a service should be the cloud service used to allow the highest performance from caseworkers. AC S, a Xerox company, provides Xerox cloud services to businesses so why not use it to its capacity for their own company. Xerox cloud services will allow caseworkers to access systems used to process applications and ongoing cases. With the Xerox cloud (IaaS) caseworkers will have the ability to work away from the office. Iaas allows organizations to outsource equipment that supports daily operations, including software, hardware, servers and networking components. The cloud provider owns the equipment and is responsible for housing, running and maintaining the equipment. Now we essential focus on technology traffic with voice communication. Caseworkers have to complete interviews over the phone with clients. There are many different communication tools but virtual(prenominal) private networks (VPN) will benefit the company the most. VPN is a private network that provides vouch and encrypted communications for large companies at a low cost. Since security is a high priority then VP N will be the best option with confidential client information transmitted over the networks. cardinal VPN technologies offered by CISCO are site to site VPNs and far access VPNs. set to site VPNs provide and Internet based wireless area network to blend resources to main location offices, home offices, and business partners. Using site to site VPNs management will be able to communicate work instructions with caseworkers and management will also be able to monitoring device daily work activity. Remote access VPNs extend any data, voice, or video communication to a remote scope. This will come in handy if a caseworker is experiencing difficulty with company software and hardware.IT would be able to diagnose and begin a problem from wherever they are by accessing your computer. Value of this Approach Xerox cloud Iaas will benefit the company in reducing IT costs. Using cloud services and products cost less because you are not charged for consultations or IT staff used to servic e your software or hardware. These fees are free with the subscription purchased by the cloud service provider. Since Xerox provides the cloud services then in that respect will not be any charges to use cloud services to allow caseworkers to telework.Telework also reduces environmental costs, like saving money on gas or food. With privacy concerns VPN will give the caseworker the ability to tactual sensation clients or other workers securely. Caseworkers will be able to bring on cost saving budgets that can help save money for future vacations or childrens college savings. Business impact Changes Businesses change according to societal trends. The more technology developed the more organizations have to change to keep up with competition. Once ACS realizes that telework can save the organization money, changes will be implemented to accommodate caseworkers to telework.Virtual management will be the most important change process. Caseworkers working in the office now are under supervision from management in the same office. A special team of staff will need to be created to work with the caseworkers teleworking. Since caseworkers will not be working in the office all work instructions will be given through email or over the phone. Management will also address meetings through conference and video calls instead of meeting in the office or specified locations.Milestone 3 Additional Technology SolutionsOther forms of technology that will be useful in allowing caseworkers to able to telework is desktop virtualization. According to searchvirtualdesktop. techtarget. com, background virtualization is the concept of isolating a limpid operating system (OS) instance from the client that is used to access it. Desktop virtualization can work locally and remotely. Of course remote access will be more beneficial for caseworkers. Host-based virtual machines are a model used for desktop virtualization that allows each user to individually connect to laptops or mobil e devices hosted in a data center.Management can use desktop virtualization to collect work that needs to be processed and send to caseworkers that are teleworking tasks to complete through the host-based virtual machine. VoIP uses resources to help decrease charges incurred from local and long-distance telephone networks. Management Information Systems Twelfth Edition ( Laudon and Laudon p. 265) explains, VoIP can reduce communication and network management costs by 20 to 30 percent. VoIP signals can be transferred over a corporate network allocated to particular proposition users.Caseworkers can hook the VoIP connection from ACS to their home Internet connection to receive and make calls only pertaining to work. Additional Business Process Changes There are three main systems caseworkers use to complete daily tasks. first base there is SMART, which keeps track of tasks completed and tasks needing to be completed according to priority. Then there is FACTS, which keeps track of al l the applications submitted and documents that clients return for processing. finally ICES, which stores all of the clients information and processes case information. These programs are straight forward and the only changes would be incorporating these websites to work away from the office. We are only allowed access to these programs on office computers. Management will have to allow unrestricted access to these programs to allow caseworkers to be able to work from home. overall Recommendations There are many different workers for the government sector of ACS. There are clerks who are needed to assist clients that come into the office. There are State managers that are needed in the office to conduct daily business for the offices. There is many other staff that is there to conduct daily business that is needed for offices. Telework is basically recommended for caseworkers because they can complete the same work at home that is done at work. Implementation In order for caseworker s to be able to transition from offices to remote locations caseworkers need to be trained on how to conduct telework away from the office. Caseworkers come in with a mind of reaping all the benefits and are not aware of some issues that can develop from being away from the office for too long. Employees may start to get too comfortable and become lazy in the lead to a decrease in production.Telework is not for everybody, some employees need that social environment 8 hours a day. Conclusion In conclusion telework is the best option for caseworkers and versatile other organizations. Telework allows caseworkers to gain flexibility and the organization to save money. As mentioned earlier caseworkers will be able to spend more time with families and organizations will be able to cut back on office space being used. Overall from my ordinary view and the basis of everything discussed in this paper, telework is what the future holds for corporations to keep a competitive edge.

That means they have to utilize biomass such as wood or droppings as their primary beginning of cooking and warming fuel. Lack of entree to sustainable energy services and merchandises constrains cardinal facets of human development and growing. When it comes to planetary heating, hapless people is affected the most. They are in the procedure of supplying a $ 3.75 billion loan to South African public-service corporation Eskom to urinate a supercritical coal-burning works. The World Bank says such supercritical coal undertakings are more energy efficient than traditional coal-burning workss, but these power workss nonefferv escent contribute massively to planetary heating compared to resource or renewable energy-powered plants.2 Recent surveies show that particulates from oxygenize taint and carbon black are the second prima cause of planetary warming bottom C dioxide. Residents of developing states, peculiarly in Asia, breathe in the environmental contaminations of coal s befoulment every twenty-four hours. Smog visibly hangs over major urban centres and soot covers villages doing terrible respiratory diseases. In this book, Friedman proposes a Code Green visualise and foreground the demand for a whole new system to power the economic system growing. We need to replace full end product of the alter fuel systems such as coal. The constituents of the program are corking Electrons, Energy Efficiency, and Conservation. We need to excite invention to beginning of negatrons that is abundant, clean, dependable and inexpensive. In short clip, we must cut down the demand of energy because Clean Energy will non be here shortly. I believe that authorities policies, ordinances, research support and revenue enhancement inducements would excite a system for introducing, bring forthing, secretory organ deploying clean negatrons, energy adequate and resource productiveness. As we have experienced economic sciences in recession in past old ages, most of people have lost their occupations. However, fabricating occupations in Green renewable energy have play a cardinal function in contending unemployment. With unemployment at highest record in decennaries, and oil and energy pecuniary value volatility driving concerns into the land, we can non give way to wait any longer. It is clip for a legislative for a comprehensive clean-energy investing program. In my sentiment, if we have attractive policies to concerns, it would drive the growing of renewable industries. For illustration, extends the pass on Energy Manufacturing Tax accredit ( as it is make with intercrossed vehicles ) , Increa ses the sum of credits available, or Offers a hard currency grant in positioning of the Manufacturing Tax Credit ( as is presently through with(p) with the Investment Tax Credit ) Since its debut in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 20093, the Manufacturing Tax Credit has proven to be an effectual tool to liven up our fabrication base, but demand for support salve exists. A greater than expected figure of companies apply for the plan, ensuing in an oversubscription of this plan by a ratio of 3 to 1.4 Increasing the sum of support, and the clip that such support is available, will supply inducements for more companies to do the passage to clean energy production. This will assist America construct up a thousand fabrication sector that can both(prenominal) make occupations at place and increase America s competitory border in the kibibyte energy economic system. A noteworthy extrusion is in the car fabrication sector, where corporate negotiate contracts can ensue in higher-paid assembly jobs.5 condescension these of import benefits, Congress, non the Department of Energy, should be responsible for understandably saying the intent in legislative lingual communication. Given that the federal authorities has decided to pass through the revenue enhancement codification, I support the attempt to increase the effectivity of the Manufacturing Tax Credit. And significantly, irreverent policies that strategically and expeditiously beforehand precedence authorities policies.I am impressed by how much China polluted our planet. They are taking the same way of soiled industrialisation as the wolfram done. Five of the 10 most contaminated metr opoliss worldwide are in China because air and H2O are polluted. That leads China to the record-high temperature for 11th twelvemonth in a row. Back so Chinese people can swim in the Yangtze River but they can no longer see because the toxic pollution has poisoned so many China s rivers and lakes. Furthermore, health issues are one of serious issues Chinese is sing. bingle 4th of Chinese citizens do non hold entree for clean H2O. For this ground, 70 per centum of all deathly cancerous neoplastic disease instances are related to the environment. The authorities has realized this and has been taking little stairss to travel green while more refering about economic growing. However, put to deathing a green program is non easy because of the big inactiveness and the deficiency of control over authoritiess. As I mentioned above, authorities more concern about GDP and make non care about the effects of environmental as they are making with Yangtze River dike. However, The U.S. demand t o take moral land in taking clean energy because China will follow us as it has no pick but to follow universe criterion.
